My name is Chiri, and I'm from Romania (off-topic, I'm sorry about the unhappy events that are happening now in your country). Well, I post this here because I need your help. Dooh I saw your work and I liked what you did. I need you to design a logo for me. I represent a company, its name it's translated in english in: "Have Fun!" The company offers professional audio services, mobile DJ services (for different events like weddings, anniversaries, etc), professional lights and audio equipment, entertainment business. The logo must be fun (because we entertain people, we make them feel good), easy to remember (shocking but in a good way), and also it has to be serious, detailed (to inspire trust). I was thinking at something like a big smiley face. You can also check out the "party smiley" from yahoo messenger (type <:-P in a messenger window). I like the idea with the party hat and the party whistle. You can use that idea. I would like you to be very creative, because I would like this logo to be special. The colours should be "alive": mostly yellow, a little bit of red and blue, but your opinions are welcomed.

So, in conclusion, basically, the logo should be a big smiley face, with a party hat, a party whistle, bright colours, 3D, professional, detailed (some effects but I don't want you to exaggerate with the effects). I would like you to let your imagination free and design something special. If you have a different vision about the design, just tell me, share with me. I'm opened to new.

Under the logo (or wherever you thing it's suited), the name of the website should appear. Just use: www.havefun.com. You could use some background for the website name (something like the YouTube logo) After you finish the logo, I will also pay for the .psd file so I will be able to modify myself the name of the website.

After you design the logo, I will need you to design the website template based on the colours of the logo. But first, let's design the logo, and then the website template. One thing at a time.

Glade you like my work, and thanks for the detailed description, I like when I have a lot of information, it makes the job go easier and quick. One thing through, what dimensions should the logo be? Do you plan to print it latter on some promotional materials, or is it meant to stay in digital form? I ask this because its not a scalable vector graphic so it can't be made bigger latter if needed. If you plan to use it only in digital form then 640x480 will be more then enough. Please let me know about that, everything else i got.

Oh, and if you plan to order a web template latter, then you will receive the PSD file for the logo with no extra charge.

Ok...looks very nice. I understand that it's a "work in progress", but there are some few things that I would like you to modify, if you don't mind:

1. I would like you to use a glow effect, so the whole logo would shine a bit. I think like this one. This is the glow effect, isn't it? (I'm sorry but I don't know many things about photoshop effects ).
2. The party hat is a little too big, could you make it a little smaller? The positioning is perfect but it's kinda big (just adjust the height). And I want more colours on the hat besides blue: some yellow and red (not a very bright red)
3. I want both eyes to be open and not that oval.
4. I also would like the mouth to be open (a relatively big mouth), as it's smiling and I want to see some white teeth . It doesn't have to blow the whistle, just to keep it between its teeth. And because of that the party whistle should be closed (rolled on) like here. And also use on the whistle, the same colours as on the party hat (basically blue, yellow, red).
5. I want the smiley face to be yellow. This colour you used is more orange. Something like this
6. I want the smiley face to look straight at me/us, so you can get rid of that shadow effect at the bottom, and center the eyes.
7. Also you can get rid of that music notes. I know you wanted to suggest music, party, fun, I appreciate that, but it makes the logo too complicated outside the outline of the smiley. You can use the music notes on the party hat, as an texture (but not many music notes - 3 or 4 notes)
8. I want that party whistle to be positioned like the small line from the Q letter.
9. Because there won't be any music notes outside the borders of the logo (borders delimited by the smiley face, the party hat, and a little bit of that party whistle which is outside the mouth), in that case, you could center the face and make it a little bigger.

I hope I'm not a tough customer I'm just a little obsessed freak when it comes to details.

1. Try and use the light/shine/crystal effect, try the best you can do. I'm not asking the impossible.
3. I don't want the eyes to be perfectly round, but not that oval.

You're doin' great. But it needs some modifications:

1. I feel like that it's staring at me. Maybe because of its eyes (or maybe because they are too round and white in the same time),
2. Also the colour of the smiley still doesn't look like pure yellow. It has some orange features
3. Indeed, I want the mouth to be open, but I want straight teeth and only the upper teeth should be visible. Ok, it seems like my perception on the smiley looks like the icon of the yahoo messenger software. So, something like that.

I asked a friend to do a quick sketch (ignore the fact that he used orange - make it Yellow!). Use this type of mouth (from my picture), and also my type of eyes. The idea is important, you must do what you think that it will make it look good. I just shared my vision.

Well actually the Yahoo smiley has got more orange then mine, but ok. Ill use the Yahoo colors and your friend's sketch as guidelines.

Yes. That's what I'm talking about. But still, maybe it's because of my lcd monitor or the glow effect, but I don't "feel" that yellow colour. Could you please use the same yellow as the one from this picture?
And one more thing, could you round a little bit the corners of each tooth? Just a little bit, and also make each teeth more visible. Now at this size, I can distinguish the teeth individually, but when I'll use the logo in a smaller version, I will only see the theeth as a white line. I hope you understand what I'm saying.

I can hardly wait to see the whole logo, with the party hat and the party whistle.

Note that smile is now fully yellow, with "glow" effect that is making the yellow color brighter.
